Homemade soap

I’m still here if you are wondering. There is some time for crafts in my life (always!) but not enough for photographing and writing. But this evening the stars line up, the little ones are asleep, the husband is away and there are some pictures in my camera.

I’ve been experimenting with soap lately. I wanted to do the real thing (no glycerine here), with lye and stuff. Naturally cautious I browsed the internet for hours before I decided to jump in. I got a lot of inspiration from the Humblebee&Me, she does gorgeous soaps, and very detailed tutorials and recipes. I skipped using lard though.

Here are two of my batches, one with cocoa and rhassoul clay with a white topping and the other one is with coconut milk, shea butter, lemon zest and poppy seeds. So pleased with the result!
